Indoor Navigation

THE CHALLENGE

Seamless and efficient navigation in
indoor environments.

In production and logistics, transportation tasks are essential. Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) significantly improve operational efficiency when functioning reliably and precisely. However, dynamic obstacles, evolving layouts, and densely packed spaces can limit AMR performance even in controlled indoor environments.

ARTI Indoor Navigation Suite (IGVI) delivers a complete navigation suite for indoor AMRs. Its robust, hardware‑agnostic software architecture guarantees adaptability, reliability, and safety. IGVI integrates mapping, localization, and real‑time sensor data to compute optimal routes, avoid obstacles, and adjust paths in real time. This ensures safe, accurate, and precise movement from start to finish.

Path Planning

Dynamic path planning enables autonomous systems to adapt their trajectories in complex, rapidly changing environments by integrating multiple planning methodologies. This approach delivers both flexibility and precision through sophisticated environmental perception and real-time decision-making.

Core Features:

Data Fusion

Intelligent algorithms continuously process input from multiple independent sensors to build a rich, yet efficient, representation of the environment.

Automated Route Generation

Once an area is mapped, ARTI’s system can automatically generate routes. This process spans several layers—from global and local path planning to precise trajectory execution.

Obstacle Detection and Avoidance

Reliable obstacle detection ensures safe navigation. Instead of waiting for obstacles to clear, ARTI dynamically calculates feasible detours, adapting driving behavior in real time.

Route Optimization

In open environments, potential trajectories are rapidly generated and evaluated to identify the optimal path. For more structured navigation, graph-based route planning enables preferred path definition.

Predefined Trajectories

In certain scenarios, fixed routes with specific position and speed requirements are necessary. ARTI’s system fully supports such predefined trajectory configurations.

KNAPP

ARTI has previously made successful contributions to the development of innovative AGV projects in the field of mobile robotics. A recent example is KNAPP’s latest innovation in intelligent warehouse robotics – the AeroBot system – where ARTI was able to contribute its expertise in software development and sensor integration. The result: a groundbreaking, multidimensional, and flexible robotics system – efficient, robust, and forward-looking. ARTI is proud to have played a small part in this development.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of licenses do you offer?

We provide solutions for individual systems and entire product lines. Click here to learn more about our licensing system and find the best solution for your needs.

Do you offer a trial version?

Depending on the license, we provide a three-month trial phase. Upon completion, easy upgrade to a full license is possible. For further details, send us a message and we will respond as soon as possible.

How long does the integration take?

The time required for integration depends on the specific application. It can range from a few days to a couple of weeks.

Can I do the integration myself?

While our software components are plug-and-play ready, we don’t recommend doing it without us, as we want to ensure a high quality product. After the first integration, subsequent configuration changes can be made independently of ARTI.

Can I deploy my robots to the end customer without ARTI's assistance?

Yes, absolutely! After the first integration, the robots can easily deployed directly to the end customer without further assistance from ARTI unless you want us onboard.

Do I need to buy additional support packages alongside the license?

Single System Licenses doesn’t include support. Product Line Licenses cover the entire integration work and include a support period for up to 6 months unless extended.

Is ARTI software compatible with my chosen platform?

Due to the highly adaptable and modular design of our software components, they can be integrated onto almost every mobile robot platform. For additional compatibility questions, feel free to contact us.

Do you also provide support during the initial development phase?

Absolutely. ARTI not only offers state-of-the-art software components but also provides workshops and consulting services. If you require assistance with hardware and software inquiries, feel free to send us a message.
